Thank you for trusting The Soul's Apothecary with your care. We understand that psychological testing can feel unfamiliar, and our goal is to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible. At The Soul's Apothecary, we strive to provide evaluations that are thorough, individualized, and respectful. We recognize that every client brings unique strengths and challenges, and our goal is to provide meaningful answers, practical recommendations, and a supportive experience throughout the assessment process. This guide will help you understand what to expect before, during, and after your evaluation.
Review concerns, gather background information, determine the most appropriate evaluation, and discuss the assessment process.
Completion of standardized psychological and/or neuropsychological assessment measures. Length varies based on referral concerns and age.
Psychological and neuropsychological evaluations may assess areas such as attention, executive functioning, memory, learning, academic skills, language, problem-solving, social-emotional functioning, and behavioral functioning. The specific measures administered will depend on the referral concerns and evaluation goals.
Testing appointments typically last approximately 3–4 hours, although appointment length may vary depending on the referral concerns, age of the client, and type of evaluation being completed.
Assessment measures are scored and interpreted, with information from interviews, records, observations, and questionnaires integrated.
A comprehensive written report is prepared summarizing findings, diagnoses, strengths, and recommendations.
Results are reviewed with the client and/or family, questions are answered, and the completed report is discussed.
